Profile: Change a student's status

By default, a student's status is active. You can inactivate a student by changing the active status to inactive. 


NOTE: If you are also planning to delete a student or student groups, be sure to remove students from groups  before moving them to inactive status. When attempting to delete groups with inactive students you will get the following error if all inactive students have not been removed:

Inactivate a student

Inactive students do not display in the student lists.

  1. On the Main Sections menu, click Students, and then click View/Modify.
  2. Locate your student.
TIP: If you have many students, use the filter functionality to narrow down your search. See How does filtering work?
  1. Scroll to the Record Status section and select Inactive.

  2. Click "Save" in the upper right hand corner


Re-activate A Student

There are a couple ways to re-activate a student.

    • From the Inactive List report: Go to  Main Sections > Students > Reports > General. Open the Inactive List report and click Activate for each student you are activating.


NOTE: If you are receiving an error message when attempting to re-activate a student, please follow the instructions under  Activate/Inactivate Multiple Students.

Activate/Inactivate Multiple Students

Inactive students do not display in the student lists.

  1. On the Main Sections menu, click Students, and then click Globals.
  2. Click the Select Fields to be Edited icon. 

  3. Select the box next to the Status option and click "Done"

  4. To narrow down the list of students, use the Grade and Group filter at the top of the page and select "Apply" to apply your selections

  5. Select the status option of active or inactive to the right of the student name to update the student status in Charms.

  6. Click "Save Changes" to save your work. Or if you get called away or interrupted, the system will automatically save your work for you every two minutes. The counter for the auto save is just to the right.
