General: Seating Chart

Charms provide's a simple drag and drop method of creating a seating chart that can be used for positioning your students in a rehearsal or concert setting.  


  1. On the Main Sections menu, click Students, and then click Seating Chart.
  2. A chart will appear for you with multiple options.

      1. Select Group – Select the Group to make the seating chart for from the drop-down menu
      2. Show Part on Chart – Click Yes or No; choose Part 1, Part 2, or Part 3
      3. Show Grade on Chart – Click Yes or No
      4. Show Outlines – Click Yes or No, a think line will be created around your selected student information on the chart
      5. Show Picture – Click Yes or No, the pictures you have uploaded for your students will be displayed along with their names
      6. Event Name – Add an Event Name to be included on your chart

3. Select View Seating Chart, a new window with the students listed will appear.  The students will be color-coded by their instrument/part.

4. Charms display's a new window with a blank area at the top and the students' names listed at the bottom. To build a seating chart, simply drag the student's name to any position on the screen.

5. Select Record when you are finished.

6. Select Reset to clear the screen and return the students to the bottom portion of the screen.

    1. To print the seating chart, make sure to clear your headers and footers from the Page Setup Menu and set your layout to Landscape for maximum width. If you need to print wider than 11", you can select Legal size paper.
