SMS: Schedule and send a text message

You can schedule a text message to go out immediately, or at a future date and time. 

Prerequisite: The text message is created and saved.

  1. On the Main Sections menu, click Communicate, click Text Messaging, and then click Schedule Texts.

TIP: You can also schedule and send a text message by clicking Schedule at the top of the text messaging page.  Main Sections > Communicate > Text Messaging:       

  1. In the Select Message list, find your message and click "Select Message"



  2. Select the filters you want for the text message. 

NOTE: Remember you can use the  Charms filtering feature to filter using additional options such as groups, grades, and parts.
  1. Click "Apply Filter"


  2. Charms displays all the recipients matching your filter.
  3. Select All Cell Numbers to include all results

    or select individual numbers.

  4. Send the text message immediately by clicking the green "Send Now" button

    OR

  5. Schedule to send the text message later: Click the green "Schedule Texts for Later" button

    fill in the message date and time, and then click "Schedule Message"


  6. Confirm your decision by clicking "OK"

The text message is sent using a short code rather than a phone number. Recipients see 91906 as the sender. They can add this number to their contacts and save it with your school name.

To see replies to texts, go to Main Sections > Communicate > Text Messaging > Message Replies

NOTE: If your parents/students are not receiving the texts, it is possible that they have opted out of receiving text messages. If they wish to resume receiving texts, the parent/student would text RESUME to 1-651-390-7966.
