SMS: Update a scheduled text message

You can update the verbiage on a scheduled text message, change the scheduled date or time, or change the message recipients anytime prior to the text message going out.

What do you want to do?

  • Update the text message
  • Change the scheduled time or the message recipients

Update the text message

  1. On the Main Sections menu, click Communicate, click Text Messaging, and then click Create Message.
  2. In the Messages Entered table, find the text message you want to update and click

  3. Update the name and/or the message and then click

Change the scheduled time or message recipients

If you want to change the time a text message is scheduled to go out, or the current recipients, you need to cancel the currently scheduled text and then reschedule it.

  1. Locate the scheduled text message.
    1. On the Main Sections menu, click Communicate, click Text Messaging, and then click Review Schedule.
    2. Click

      , next to the applicable text message.

    3. Confirm your selection by clicking

  2. Reschedule the text message.
  3. On the Main Sections menu, click Communicate, click Text Messaging, and then click Create Message.
  4. In the Messages Entered table, find the text message you want to schedule and click

  5. Click

  6. Select the filters you want for the text message. 
NOTE: Remember you can use the Charms filtering feature to filter using additional options such as groups, grades, and parts.
  1. Click

    . Charms displays all the recipients matching your filter.

  2. Select All Cell Numbers to include all results, or select individual numbers.
  3. Send the text message immediately by clicking

    OR

  4. Schedule to send the text message later: Click

    , fill in the message date and time, and then click

  5. Confirm your decision by clicking
