Account Ledger: Reconcile an account ledger check register

Keep your account ledgers in balance using Charm's check register feature. Included in this article:


Reconcile your check register

  1. On the Main Sections menu, click Finances, click Account Ledgers, and then click Check Register.
  2. Select your account ledger from the Select Account list.
  3. For Select Option, select the information you want to see. For example, current school year.
  4. Review the deposits and checks section, mark applicable deposits and/or checks cleared by clicking the check box under the Clear column.
  5. Click Mark Cleared or Uncleared.

NOTE: if you have multiple deposits included under one deposit number, when you clear or unclear the deposit, all deposits under that number are cleared or uncleared.
  1. At the top right, click "Reconcile"


  2. Review the information and when done, click Cancel.

 Print reconciliation detail report

  1. On the Main Sections menu, click Finances, click Account Ledgers, and then click Check Register.

  2. Select your account ledger from the Select Account list.

  3. At the top left, next to the account ledger name, click the blue "printer" icon

  4. On the menu at the top, click "Print"

  5. In the Print dialog, select your printer options and click OK.

NOTE: You may also export the report to excel.


Save reconciliation detail to a file

You can save the reconciliation detail as a common separated values (csv) file and then open it in Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet tool.

  1. On the Main Sections menu, click Finances, click Account Ledgers, and then click Check Register.
  2. Select your account ledger from the Select Account list.
  3. At the top left, next to the account ledger name, click the blue "Print" Icon.
  4. On the menu at the top, click "Print"
  5. Follow your browser instructions to save the file.

 Search for check transactions

You can search for specific check transactions using the check description, the check number, or the withdrawal amount.

  1. On the Main Sections menu, click Finances, click Account Ledgers, and then click Check Register.
  2. Select your account ledger from the Select Account list.
  3. At the top right, click the blue "magnifying glass" icon


  4. For Find Transactions with, select an option: description, your check number or the withdrawal amount.

  5. For Matching, enter the applicable information per the Find Transactions with option you selected.

  6. Click Search.
