Recording Studio: Create a recording

In these steps we are creating a recording in the Teachers/Helpers portal. The process is similar in the Parents/Students/Members. Students can use the help files in the that portal if they need assistance.

The Record tab in the music studio is where you record your music. Use the following buttons as you work in the music studio:


Rewind		Play		Record		Loop

On the Main Sections menu, click Assessment, click Recordings, and then click Use Studio.
The first time you access the music studio, your browser asks if you want to enable or allow Charms to use your microphone. The question is worded a little differently depending on your browser. Provide an affirmative answer.
If a student is creating the recording, in the Select student list, select the student.
On the Record tab, click
to start recording.
When finished, click
To listen to your recording, locate the current take and click the arrow.
If you like the recording, click Save.
Type a Recording Name and click Upload. The recording is displayed in the Uploaded Recordings section.
If you are not happy with the recording, click
to create a new take and repeat the process.

NOTE: You have 5 takes at a time to create your recording. If you reach 5 and need additional takes, you have to clear all the previous takes and Charms gives you an additional 5 takes.

Create a recording with an accompaniment

You can upload accompaniments and attach them to student assignments or make them available for students to use outside of assignments. In this process we will walk through creating a recording with an accompaniment outside of an assignment.

On the Main Sections menu, click Assessment, click Recordings, and then click Use Studio.
Click the Accompaniments tab.
If you know which accompaniment you want to use, click the load/record circle.

If you want to listen to the accompaniment before loading it, click the white arrow, then in the dialog box, click the white arrow again. If you decide to load it, click

After you load the accompaniment, it is available on the Record tab.
To start the accompaniment, click
and then when ready to record, click
When finished, click
To listen to your recording, locate the current take and click the arrow.
If you like the recording, click Save.
Type a Recording Name and click Upload. The recording is displayed in the Uploaded Recording section.
If you are not happy with the recording, click
to create a new take and repeat the process.
