UIL: Entering a UIL Event From Charms

Make Sure Your Settings Are Current

  • Ensure your information is up to date on the page
  • Select update

How to Enter An Event

  • Assessment
  • UIL Entries
  • Select the appropriate form for the event you wish to enter

Form 1 - Eligibility/Certification Form - this is a required form and needs to be signed by your principal or superintendent and mailed to your Regional Secretary

Form 2 - Marching

  • Enter School’s Texas Education Agency (TEA) Code
      • IMPORTANT: If you do not have your TEA code, please reach out to your regional secretary.   
  • Select the event. Any entries entered after the soft deadline might incur a late fee. Once the hard deadline has passed, you will no longer be able to enter the event.
  • Select Group Type from the drop down
  • Enter the number of students participating
  • List any additional directors that will be associated with the performance
  • Check the box for Copyright Certification
  • Check the box for Area Marching Contest if you plan to and your school administrator has given permission to participate in the UIL Area Marching Band Contest if all criteria for advancement are met
  • Click "Show Form and Submit"
  • Completed form will open in a new tab

Form 3 - Twirling

  • Enter School’s Texas Education Agency (TEA) Code
      • IMPORTANT: If you do not have your TEA code, please reach out to your regional secretary.   
  • Select Twirling Event from drop down. Any entries entered after the soft deadline might incur a late fee. Once the hard deadline has passed, you will no longer be able to enter the event
  • Enter Class
  • Select Contest Name from drop down
  • Select Eligible Students
  • Submit Entry

  • Submit Twirling Entry and Show Form. This will open the form in a new tab

Form 4/5 Concert and Site Reading

  • Enter School’s Texas Education Agency (TEA) Code
      • IMPORTANT: If you do not have your TEA code, please reach out to your regional secretary.   
  • Select Contest from drop down.   Any entries entered after the soft deadline might incur a late fee. Once the hard deadline has passed, you will no longer be able to enter the event
  • Select Organization Event from drop down
  • Select Performing Group Type from drop down
  • Enter the number of students participating
  • List any additional directors that will be associated with the performance
  • Enter the Accompanist
  • Enter Sightreading Voicing
  • Make up to three PML selections
  • Click "Show Form and Submit" button. Completed form will be opened in a new tab.

Form 6/7 - Solo & Ensemble (Small)

  • Enter School’s Texas Education Agency (TEA) Code
      • IMPORTANT: If you do not have your TEA code, please reach out to your regional secretary.   
  • Select the Solo or Ensemble Event from the drop down
  • Select the Contest name from the drop down
  • Enter the PML Selection - you may browse the PML to make a selection.
  • Select Eligible Students from the list
  • Click the "Show Form and Submit" button. Completed form will open in a new tab

Form 8 - Solo & Ensemble (Medium)

  • Enter School’s Texas Education Agency (TEA) Code
      • IMPORTANT: If you do not have your TEA code, please reach out to your regional secretary.       
  • Select the Ensemble Event from the drop down
  • Select the Contest from the drop down
  • Enter Number of Members Performing
  • Select up to three selections from the PML. You may browse the PML to make selections
  • Select Time Preference from drop down
  • Select Eligible Students
  • Click the "Show Form and Submit" button. Completed form will open in a new window

Review Entries

Once you have completed entering your students, you may review your entries by selecting the event and clicking the "Show Entries" button
