What does "Paid but not assigned" mean in my student balances due report?

The Paid but Not Assigned field is found on the Student Balances Due report. This field represents a fixed payment item that was billed to a group that the student used to be a part of. The student paid the bill, but now is no longer assigned to that group, or the group was deleted.
